Full name: Adam Hamilton
How long have you been competing?
Where do you call home?
Favorite event or place to practice?
Favourite Event is 70.3 European Championships Wiesbaden
Do you have a focus area within your sport?
Efficiency is my 4th Discipline, forever chasing excellence -- because a 1mm change in body position or foot strike or stroke timing can change your entire race and be the difference between staying injury free or visiting the Osteopath.
What is the strangest thing that has happened to you while doing your sport?
Seeing the athlete in front of me being sick whilst on the bike section of an ironman, but not stopping he just kept pedalling.
Do you have a claim to fame?
Not really, I'm pretty low key.
Do you promote an annual event or are you involved in a charitable cause?
Each month my company raises money for different charities.
Anything else we should know about you or your sport?
It’s a great sport and life is movement - Eugene Sandow said that in 1918, and not a thing has changed. You gotta move and groove!
Notable recent results:
2017 has been a year of mixed successes – several injuries to contend with but also great results in Spartan racing; completing the ultra beast in Edinburgh, being one of only a few who finished the course. Competing in the Elite field I have managed a 2nd and 3rd for my age group. I have also managed huge improvements in my swimming recording a new pb 25 minutes quicker than before in a 10k race.
Plans for 2018:
I am planning to race Wasdale X extreme ironman and Jurrasicman extreme ironman. I am also doing the full Spartan race series and currently await news from the British tri team as to whether I have won my slot for world championships.
